What's The Difference Between Qi Gong And Meditation?

What’s The Difference Between Qi Gong And Meditation? Meditation is like a workout for your mind, whereas, exercise is a workout for your body. When you combine these two practises together, you get Qi Gong. This results in more flexible mind and body. More stamina and more focus. These are a few of the many benefits you can achieve easily when you practise Qi Gong.

Qi Gong instructors were also Traditional Eastern Medicine experts. It was known, that the Qi Gong instructors, would be paid while their members were healthy. What happened when a member became sick or diseased? The member did not have to pay the instructor any more until they became well again.

What Is Meditation?

Meditation is a very general term which used to mean to think deeply about something. Or even contemplate deeply. Meditation has a far deeper meaning than that. It is an umbrella phase for many different types of forms and practises. Qi Gong at its core is all about focusing your mind on your body and your breath. Meditation can take on many various forms. I cover this in my article about the 5 types of meditation I teach in the Dream Method. These types are breathing, moving, guided, silent and sound meditation.

The term meditation was used as the closest word that could be found to describe this Eastern practise. In western languages, we no longer have the depth of words to really explain what meditation actually is. At its basic level, we are talking about focusing your mind in the present moment. This originally came for the Vedas of India, called Sackshi Bhav. This means witness oneself. Mindfulness from the west has really stemmed from Buddhism.

What Is Qi Gong?

Qi Gong is another work out for the mind and takes on many different exercises, routines and practises. To me, it is using the mind to enhance the actions of the body. That is, using your mind as a very powerful tool. When we allow the mind to take control, it can become a very lousy master. This leads us into all sorts of trouble in our life. You can learn more about Qi Gong here.

Qi Gong is a form of meditation. In the three types of Qi Gong in the classes I teach at the Bright Beings Academy, we use action – calm action – calm movements to stimulate the energy body. The energy body is just as important as the physical body. When we manage to combine the two together in their best way, we become whole and complete. We remove ourselves from a stressful way of living. We actually become the human beings we actually came here to be.

Your Life Is All About You

Imagine being able to know deep down inside and answer the question ‘What’s The Difference Between Qi Gong And Meditation?’ When we say knowledge is power, we tend to think of the intellect. But the intellect is very cutting and can cut people and opportunities away from you. This becomes exhausting and makes you give up. This leads to many nasty cycles which leads to frustration, procrastination, and so on.

When you start to tune into your intelligence. You are starting to tap into the unlimited resources you actually have at your disposal. This will open up your life to the bountiful and endless possibilities that are out there for you. And now, more than ever before in human history, you have this resource at your fingertips. For thousands of years, the mystery teachings have been kept under lock and key. Now we are all starting to realise we can tap into this higher energy with Qi Gong and Meditation.

Do You Need Help Learning Qi Gong Or Meditation?

When I first started looking into the mind body spirit arena, I was overwhelmed with the amount of choices that lay before me. I did a bit here, and a bit there, and nothing moved very quickly. When I discovered Qi Gong, this changed everything. At the heart of our very existence is sound and vibration. We can tap into our own vibration using Qi Gong. I also went onto use sound healing for this also.
