Many people move through life reacting automatically to situations. A comment from someone triggers irritation. A moment of criticism triggers shame. A difficult conversation triggers anxiety or withdrawal.
Often these reactions feel confusing. They seem bigger than the situation itself.
Realisation begins when you gently ask a different question.
Instead of asking: “Why am I like this?”
You begin asking: “What is this reaction trying to show me?”
This shift is extremely powerful. Because emotional reactions are rarely random. They usually reflect patterns that were learned earlier in life.
The Realise stage helps you recognise those patterns with compassion rather than judgement. You are not analysing yourself harshly. You are simply becoming curious.
As you move through this stage, you may wish to capture what you notice in your Meraki Journal, where you can gently reflect on your experiences as they unfold.
The Dream Method works best when approached slowly. Take your time with each practice and move through the stages at a pace that feels supportive for you.
Discover → Realise → Embrace → Actualise → Master
You are currently on Day 2 of 5 - Realise - (Understand)
The intention of today’s step is to recognise the emotional patterns shaping your reactions and beliefs. Awareness allows hidden patterns to become visible.
The Dream Method Pathway is practised as a five-day cycle, moving through one step each day, followed by two days of rest.
Realisation is the moment when awareness becomes understanding. You begin to notice that certain emotions or reactions follow familiar pathways.
For example:
criticism immediately brings feelings of inadequacy
conflict leads to people-pleasing
rejection triggers withdrawal
pressure creates anxiety or perfectionism
These responses often developed earlier in life as ways of protecting yourself. At the time they may have been helpful. But many of these patterns continue long after they are needed.
When you begin to recognise these patterns, something important happens. You stop seeing the reaction as a personal failure.
Instead, you begin to see it as a learned strategy that once tried to keep you safe. This understanding creates the foundation for genuine change.
Because once a pattern is recognised, it can be approached with kindness and wisdom.
In the Realise stage you begin to recognise the patterns shaping your reactions and emotions.
During this stage you will practise:
All-Over Body Tapping — to create calm and emotional safety
Meridian Stretching — to open the body and notice where tension or emotion is held
Five-Minute Box Breathing — to support clarity and nervous system regulation
Reflection in your Meraki Journal — to explore the patterns becoming visible
This stage is not about analysing yourself harshly. It is about seeing your inner patterns with understanding and compassion.
Today’s step in the Dream Method is Realise.
Today’s practices help you recognise the patterns shaping your emotions, reactions, and behaviours.
As you begin recognising patterns in your thoughts and emotions, you may notice feelings becoming more visible. This is completely normal.
The Realise stage is often the moment when hidden patterns begin to come into awareness. For many people, this can feel surprising at first.
Nothing here is a problem to fix. It is simply part of understanding yourself more clearly. Move slowly, stay curious, and remember that the purpose of this stage is awareness, not judgement.
Begin by settling the nervous system so you can observe your thoughts and emotions more clearly.
Move slowly and allow your body to soften as you tap.
These gentle stretches help release tension and reveal where emotions may be held in the body.
Move slowly and stay within a comfortable range.
Follow the moving dot around the square. Breathe in, hold, breathe out, then hold again. Keep the breath gentle and within your comfort.
If you feel lightheaded at any point, soften the breath or pause and return to normal breathing.
Now, sit quietly for a little while. Let the practice settle. Simply observe what is present in your body, thoughts, and emotions.
When you feel ready, write a few honest notes below. Keep it simple. This is about noticing gently.
About Your Journal
This is a private, browser-based journal. Anything you write here is saved only on your own device, inside your browser’s local storage. Nothing is sent to a server.
Your entries will remain visible when you return using the same device and browser. If you clear your browser data or switch devices, the entries will not appear there.
Reflection is where the Realise stage truly unfolds. Writing about your experiences allows emotions and thoughts to organise themselves naturally.
Often the act of writing reveals connections that were not obvious before.
You may begin to recognise patterns such as:
• repeating relationship dynamics
• emotional triggers that appear again and again
• beliefs about yourself that formed earlier in life
These insights are not meant to create self-criticism. They are simply observations.
The Dream Method Practice Tracker is available if you would like a simple way to stay consistent with your practices.
Some people enjoy using the tracker to mark each day they practise. Others prefer to move through the exercises at their own pace.
Both approaches are perfectly welcome.
The tracker is simply a support tool, not something you must complete. Many people use it alongside the Meraki Journal, using the tracker to follow their practice rhythm while using the journal to reflect on what they notice and experience.
Use whichever approach feels most supportive for you.
Realisation is a powerful turning point. When emotional patterns become visible, they stop feeling mysterious or overwhelming. But understanding alone is only the beginning.
The next stage of the Dream Method invites you to take the next step. Instead of simply recognising your patterns, you will begin learning how to meet them with compassion rather than resistance.
This stage is called Embrace. When you are ready, continue your journey by moving to the next step of the Dream Method.
When you feel ready, continue to the next stage of the Dream Method.
Some people enjoy exploring this pathway independently. Others find that a supportive conversation helps them understand their patterns more clearly.
If you would like a calm space to explore where you are in your journey, you are welcome to book a Soul Reconnection Call.
During this conversation we look at the patterns shaping your life and how you can move forward with greater clarity and self-trust.
